Design Charrette

We celebrated the innovative ideas for green stormwater infrastructure at this national, interdisciplinary design competition with a reception in the Hall of Dinosaurs, an exhibition of all competition entries, rapid-fire presentations by the nine finalists, and $10,000 prizes for three winning teams. What”s the future of Philadelphia’s waterways? This three-part program on urban planning and stormwater management presented Green City, Clean Waters, the winners of the Infill Philadelphia: Soak It Up! design competition; and special guest Eric Sanderson discussing The Manahatta Project.

The Community Design Collaborative teamed up with Grid, the Philly region’s sustainability magazine, to produce a special supplement on Infill Philadelphia: Soak It Up! for its August 2013 issue. The supplement presents the initiative, its programs, and the winning and finalist entries from the design competition. We launched the supplement at Grid Alive!, a quirky talk show format party.
